Banana Moon Longford, a well-established nursery based in Coventry, serving a diverse local community, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join our team. As part of Banana Moon Day Nurseries, a leading provider of high-quality childcare and early years education, we are committed to delivering exceptional care, learning, and development opportunities for children.
As the Deputy Nursery Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager and maintain responsibility as a Room Leader, while also taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the nursery in the Manager's absence. You will be responsible for providing a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children, overseeing the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, and ensuring the smooth running of nursery operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery and lead the setting in their absence.
- Ensure the highest standards of childcare, safeguarding, and wellbeing for all children.
- Lead, inspire, and support the nursery team to deliver outstanding care and learning experiences.
- Oversee the planning and delivery of a stimulating curriculum in line with the EYFS framework.
- Monitor staffing ratios and contribute to the effective organisation of staff rotas.
- Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Maintain compliance with nursery policies, health and safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Support continuous improvement across the nursery through staff development, training, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
- Previous experience in a senior childcare role, such as Room Leader, Third in Charge, or Deputy Manager.
- Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and safeguarding requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Good understanding of health and safety, child protection, and regulatory requirements.
- Commitment to promoting an inclusive environment that values diversity and supports every child's individual needs.
- Enhanced DBS clearance is required for this role.
- Salary from £29,000 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience.
