Electrical Test Engineer

Position Overview
The Electrical Test Engineer will support lab testing of electric drive components and systems, including performance and durability testing and failure/root cause investigation. This is an opportunity to work in the rapidly growing electrification field, partnering with cross-functional teams across design, controls, simulation, and facility design while developing a strong foundation in motor and generator fundamentals.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform lab testing of electric drive components and systems, including performance and durability testing.
· Lead and support failure and root cause investigations on motor and generator components.
· Conduct detailed, hands-on inspections involving electrical checks, visual inspections, x-ray review, and material and fluid analysis.
· Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams spanning design, controls, simulation, and facility design.
· Document findings and communicate results clearly to team members and stakeholders.
Team Interaction
This role works closely with engineers who will provide mentorship and oversight of inspection activities as the individual learns and grows in the role.
Work Environment
This is a lab-based testing environment. The role typically involves approximately 30% desk work and 70% hands-on lab work conducting inspections and electrical checks. Appropriate PPE, including safety shoes, is required.
Education & Experience
· Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Agricultural Engineering and 1-2 years of relevant experience OR
· Associates degree plus 4-5 years of relevant experience
