Job Description

Seeking a Project Lead Coordinator to perform project planning and workload management, as well as:
  • Distribute accuracy and production information to QA/Training leads.
  • Provide guidance to QA leads and direct QA teams on QA and training activities.
  • Works closely with Project Director and QA/Training Leads on training development, documentation, and performing training to MRRCs and coders.
  • Running workload reports and tracking accuracy and productivity of staff and reporting to Project Director.
  • Ensuring training and feedback is documented.
  • Providing guidance to QA Lead Coders.
  • Managing escalation resolution processes.
  • Scheduling training sessions and facilitating training.
  • Meeting scheduling, agenda, and minutes.
  • 508 compliance of documentation and deliverables.
  • Other duties as required by the Project Director.

Requirements

  • Experienced in the management and direction of CMS Part C IPM medical record data abstraction and managed care data systems respectively.
  • S/he shall be capable of effectively communicating with individuals representing various professional disciplines and service providers and providing technical assistance as required at every stage of medical record acquisition, transmittal, processing, evaluation, and maintenance.
  • Experience in medical record abstraction, managed care data systems, claims processing, analysis of large health care data sets, and managing effective business communications is particularly desirable. Must be a certified medical coder; with certification from any recognized United States medical coding credentialing institution
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in abstracting and ICD-9/ICD-10-CM coding of general acute hospital (inpatient and outpatient) and physician medical records by applying ICD-9/ICD-10-CM Coding Guidelines for inpatient and outpatient settings and related Official Coding Clinics; and
  • Ability to function in a lead role and/or train  medical record reviewers; and
  • Knowledge and skills to serve as “Master Coder” (i.e., gold standard) for all medical record coding projects.
  • Must be a certified medical coder; with certification from any recognized United States medical coding credentialing institution Certifications
  • CAPM or PMP preferred
  • Associates Degree in related field preferred.
