Job Description

Join our Finance team within Commodities and Global Markets and play a key role in supporting revenue recognition, financial control, valuation oversight and performance analysis for our trading business. As part of our London-based Product and Valuation Control team, you will help ensure accurate and insightful reporting across a broad range of commodity products, including Agricultural Commodities, Base and Precious Metals, Bulks, Commodity Investor Products and Energy products such as Global Oil and European Power, Gas and Carbon.

What role will you play?

As a member of the Product and Valuation Control team, you will be responsible for understanding, substantiating and controlling revenue recognition for our trading business. Overseeing daily profit and loss production and analysis, validate valuations for physical and derivative positions, and provide clear explanation of financial performance to trading desks and senior stakeholders.
You will work closely with front office, risk, operations and finance teams to ensure robust valuation control, accurate balance sheet reporting and strong financial governance. Whilst also support month-end close activity, front to back reconciliations and the ongoing improvement of reporting, control and system processes.

What you offer

  • 2-5 years' experience in product control, market risk, valuation control or a similar role within a trading or investment banking environment.
  • Experience supporting commodities trading, ideally across oil, gas, power, carbon or physical products.
  • Understanding of physical logistics such as storage, shipping and pipeline activity, alongside financial instruments including swaps, futures and options.
  • Strong analytical capability, high attention to detail and a practical control mindset.
  • Familiarity with coding languages such as Python, SQL or VBA would be advantageous.
  • Confidence communicating with senior stakeholders and constructively challenging front office where required.
