Job Description

MANTECH is seeking a motivated, career- and customer-oriented Principal Cyber Support Developer to join our team in Chantilly, VA.

In this role, you will play a vital part in leading technical operations, executing cybersecurity engineering solutions, and safeguarding mission-critical enterprise systems.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilize Linux and scripting experience to support and deploy Enterprise Cross Domain Solutions (CDS), enabling secure data transfers across network domains.
  • Engineer and deploy capabilities to provide new functionality, improve system performance and availability, and generate efficiencies in operational environment maintenance.
  • Support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities related to CDS technologies.
  • Identify potential conflicts with the implementation of CDS technologies within the enterprise and develop actionable recommendations for remediation.
  • Contribute to the successful completion of milestones associated with specific projects to meet customer requirements.
  • Develop and enforce plans to safeguard computer files against unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure.
  • Travel up to 25% annually to CONUS and OCONUS customer locations as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 4+ years of additional direct experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, cybersecurity operations, or software development.
  • Proficiency in Linux systems administration and scripting.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining Lua (LUA) scripts.
  • Strong baseline understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, firewalls, and routing protocols.
  • Active DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, GSEC, SSCP) or the explicit ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity architectural principles, including defense-in-depth, resilience, and integrated security operations.
  • Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing database schemas.
  • Demonstrated experience applying schema security-hardening practices, including access controls, input validation, least-privilege permissions, secure configuration, and vulnerability mitigation.
  • Solid understanding of COTS CDS technologies listed on the NCDSMO Approved Products List (APL).
  • Proven ability to apply security engineering principles to large-scale enterprise system designs.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and virtualized networked environments.
  • Experience with Information Assurance concepts and processes required to author documentation for Assessment and Authorization (A&A) frameworks.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess an active TS/SCI with polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations, including delivering technical presentations.
