Job Description

Technical Product Manager, AI Systems — AI-native productivity, stealth

Fully remote, UK-based candidates. London HQ likely but not yet fixed.

TL;DR

  • Founding-team TPM role at a well-funded stealth AI company
  • Product: AI-native productivity — starting with email, expanding into notes, tasks, calendar
  • Sits at the intersection of ML, engineering, and user experience
  • US$100M initial funding, internally backed, no VC pressure
  • Cash + meaningful founding-team equity
  • Fully remote

The play

Email, calendar, notes, tasks. The tools 5 billion people run their lives on. None of them are AI-native. Every attempt so far has been a bolt-on — a copilot button in the corner, a summary at the top of the thread. The company is building the opposite: the proactive layer underneath, that reads context, runs long workflows, completes real tasks, and asks before it acts. First product is an AI-native email app. Cut the four hours a day the average knowledge worker spends in their inbox down to thirty minutes. Email first. Productivity suite next.

The role, first 12 months

Define how the AI actually behaves — model behaviour, system behaviour, user experience — end to end. Make the real trade-offs between quality, latency, cost, reliability, safety and UX. Work directly with ML and engineering on system design and evaluation. Build and evolve the evaluation frameworks: offline metrics, online experiments, human feedback. Set the quality bar, identify failure modes, and make sure the system behaves predictably and recovers gracefully when it doesn't. Own product quality end to end.

The bar

Read this before you DM.

  • 6+ years shipping complex, technical products end to end
  • Hands-on experience with LLM-based products in production — not just theory
  • Strong CS fundamentals and system design instincts — you read technical designs and challenge them
  • Real experience with model evaluation, experimentation, prompting or AI system iteration
  • Comfortable being the person who reasons about hallucinations, failure modes, and how the system degrades under load
  • Zero-to-one shipping experience — you know what a pre-launch product actually feels like

Engineering background is a strong plus. What matters most is the ability to reason deeply about both AI systems and product outcomes.

Who this isn't for

Roadmap-managers who ship through committee. PMs whose AI experience is limited to writing prompts in ChatGPT. Anyone who needs stable specs and clear briefs before they can start. This is a hands-on, technical, founder-mode role.

If the bar above doesn't quite match where you are today, no worries — save your energy for the role that does.

The rest

Everything else — who they are, who's behind it, the detail on comp and equity — is a call.

DM me if this is you, or if you know the person it should be.
