IT Director

IT DIRECTOR- Permanent – Hybrid Role – London – 2/3 days in office

An Investor backed organisation with global reach is looking for an IT Director to lead technology strategy and operations for a respected Investor backed organisation with global reach. You'll shape IT vision, oversee critical technology projects, and manage day-to-day technology delivery for 100 London-based users.

Key responsibilities:

Strategy & Transformation

1. Develop a strategic IT roadmap aligned to organisational priorities, with full budget ownership
2. Lead critical projects: data and security improvements, SharePoint optimisation, and AI adoption
3. Set up and run a PMO function; manage vendor performance against clear KPIs

Vendor & Project Management

1. Oversee MSP and security vendor relationships; drive continuous improvement
2. Coordinate third-party delivery partners; act as escalation point for critical incidents
3. Balance vendor management with hands-on involvement where needed

Operational Leadership

1. Ensure reliable IT service delivery across SharePoint, Salesforce, Microsoft 365
2. Assess security posture; implement infrastructure upgrades; develop security roadmap
3. Support the organization's AI adoption strategy — from evaluation through pilot to governance

Stakeholder Leadership

1. Build trusted relationships at board level and across the organisation
2. Communicate technology plans in clear, business-friendly language
3. Foster a collaborative, technology-enabled culture and manage a small team

Essential Experience:

1. Executive-level IT leadership – ExCo experience – influential at leadership level
2. Deep SharePoint and SaaS management (M365, Salesforce or similar CRM)
3. Previous experience of developing an AI strategy and roadmap, building out an AI capability with responsible guardrails.
4. Strong vendor management track record (MSPs, technology partners)
5. Commercial awareness and budgeting experience
6. Technical knowledge (networks, infrastructure, security, cloud)
7. Experience of developing security roadmaps and ensure robust monitoring and controls
