Job Description
Role: Power BI Data Engineer
Location: This position does not require employees to work on-site on a regular basis. However, candidates must reside within a reasonable distance of a Client office. This requirement is necessary to accommodate in-person interview requests and, if hired, candidates must be able to visit a Client office to collect their company laptop and complete government-issued ID verification. Additionally, can be asked to come to office on as needed basis for validation throughout the assignment.
JD:
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions for state clients
- Build and optimize ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory, SQL Server, Cozyroc, and PLSQL
- Leverage AI tools (Power BI Copilot, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate report generation, DAX development, and ETL automation
- Ensure data accuracy, quality validation, and performance optimization across reporting pipelines
- Provide L3-level troubleshooting and proactively resolve production issues impacting SLAs
- Collaborate with business and client stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable reporting solutions
- Maintain end-to-end ownership across reporting lifecycle (data ingestion transformation visualization validation)
- Support automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve reliability of reporting operations
- Drive best practices in data architecture, governance, and reporting standardization
Technical Skills (Required)
- Power BI, Tableau, Python, SQL Server, Azure, ADF, Cozyroc, PLSQL, ETL/ELT, Data Modeling, Performance Optimization, GitHub Copilot, Power BI Copilot, Enterprise Reporting Architecture Experience Profile
- Senior Developer / Architect with strong hands on technical expertise
- Proven experience in end to end reporting and data engineering solutions
- Experience in AI enabled analytics and automation frameworks preferred Behavioral & Leadership Expectations
- Highly self driven; proactively identifies and resolves complex problems under constraints
- Strong communication skills with ability to provide clear daily updates and engage directly with clients
- Ability to operate at both detailed and strategic levels ( 30K foot view ) and connect dependencies across parallel workstreams
- Strong analytical thinking and problem solving mindset with ownership mentality
- Capable of working independently in a high visibility, SLA driven environment
