Location: Remote (Pacific Time Zone / PST working hours)
Duration: 6-Month W2 Contract
Pay Rate: $95–$110/hour (W2)
Staffing Partner: Russell Tobin

About the Opportunity

Russell Tobin is partnering with a leading AI technology company to hire an AI Operations & Automation Specialist to support its rapidly growing Startup Partnerships team.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who combines high-volume customer operations experience with hands-on expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs), AI-powered workflow automation, and process improvement.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable managing a high volume of inbound inquiries, making nuanced operational decisions, and building AI-driven workflows that reduce manual effort.

You'll play a key role in scaling the team's support operations by reviewing AI-generated responses, managing complex escalations, and developing automations that can independently handle routine inquiries while maintaining accuracy and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • AI-Powered Support Operations: Review, edit, and send AI-generated responses to high volumes of inbound inquiries, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and a positive customer experience.
  • Workflow Automation: Design, build, and optimize LLM-powered workflows that categorize, triage, and draft responses to inbound email inquiries.
  • Human-in-the-Loop Decision Making: Evaluate AI-generated outputs, identify cases requiring human intervention, and escalate sensitive or complex eligibility and approval questions.
  • Operational Efficiency: Analyze recurring inquiries, identify automation opportunities, and implement scalable solutions to reduce manual workload.
  • Prompt Engineering & LLM Evaluation: Develop and refine prompts, evaluate model outputs, and improve automation performance and reliability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Trust & Safety, Operations, Marketing, and Partnerships teams to ensure communications align with established policies.
  • Process Documentation: Document workflows, automation logic, escalation procedures, and best practices to support long-term operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in high-volume customer support, trust & safety, business operations, or similar environments requiring accuracy, efficiency, and sound judgment.
  • Hands-on experience building or managing LLM-powered workflows, including prompt design, automated triage, response generation, and output evaluation.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools to improve operational processes and reduce repetitive manual work.
  • Ability to assess AI-generated responses, identify inaccuracies, and determine when human review or escalation is necessary.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a process improvement mindset.
  • Comfortable handling repetitive, detail-oriented tasks at scale while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Excellent written communication skills and the ability to explain complex or sensitive decisions clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
  • Ability to work remotely with consistent availability during Pacific Time business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing automations across email platforms, CRMs, Slack, spreadsheets, or workflow management tools.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript for scripting, integrations, or workflow automation.
  • Familiarity with LLM APIs, AI agents, agentic workflows, or AI development tools.
  • Experience with eligibility reviews, fraud prevention, account approvals, customer appeals, or trust & safety workflows.
  • Background supporting startup ecosystems, SaaS platforms, developer tools, or technology partnerships.
  • Experience designing human-in-the-loop automation systems and evaluating AI workflow performance.

What Makes This Opportunity Unique

  • Work with a leading organization at the forefront of AI innovation.
  • Gain hands-on experience building and improving production-oriented LLM workflows.
  • Help transform a high-volume manual support process into a scalable, AI-assisted operation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across AI, operations, and startup partnerships.
  • Make a measurable impact on automation, response quality, and operational efficiency.
