At Aurizon, we're embarking on an exciting journey to modernise and evolve our engineering platforms, developer experience, and software delivery capabilities. We're seeking an experienced DevOps Architect to help shape the future of software engineering across our organisation.

This is a hands on technical leadership role where you'll combine architecture, engineering expertise and strategic thinking to design and deliver scalable, secure and resilient platforms that enable teams to build and deploy software efficiently and confidently.

About the Role

As a DevOps Architect, you will:

• Lead the design and evolution of Aurizon's engineering platforms, developer experience and software delivery ecosystem.
• Design and implement cloud native platforms, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation solutions.
• Establish engineering standards, reference architectures, reusable patterns and "golden paths" to support consistent delivery practices.
• Collaborate with software engineering, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture and project delivery teams.
• Drive adoption of modern engineering practices including Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps, Platform Engineering and Site Reliability Engineering.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across multiple teams.
• Contribute to the development and governance of enterprise AI platforms and responsible AI practices.

About You

You will bring proven experience designing and operating modern engineering platforms and enabling high performing software delivery teams.

Key experience includes:

• Designing and operating cloud native platforms using Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes and container technologies.
• Implementing CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks and Infrastructure as Code solutions.
• Developing architecture standards, reusable engineering capabilities and shared frameworks.
• Driving secure by design, automation first and quality focused delivery practices.
• Influencing stakeholders and leading complex technical initiatives from strategy through delivery.

Experience with technologies such as GitHub Enterprise, Terraform, Bicep, Azure Kubernetes Service, ArgoCD, Flux, Istio, Backstage and New Relic will be highly regarded.
