Job Description

Job Title: Solutions Architect III
Job at a Glance: We’re looking for a Solutions Architect to assess enterprise applications and recommend modernization paths, with a strong focus on containerization and Kubernetes-based infrastructure. This role partners with engineering, platform, and security stakeholders to evaluate application risk, identify blockers, and document target-state options that help reduce exploitable security vulnerabilities identified through advanced detection/analysis tooling.
Work Location: 4x onsite at 1800 Arch Street Philadelphia PA 19103
Pay Rate: $53/hr W2 + optional benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401k)
Duration of Contract: Long term contract with extension/conversion possibility
Responsibilities:

Perform application architecture assessments to determine readiness for containers/Kubernetes (e.g., OpenShift or equivalent).
Evaluate application characteristics including dependencies, runtime, statefulness, data/storage patterns, networking, identity/access, observability, and operational requirements.
Recommend modernization approaches (e.g., rehost, replatform/containerize, refactor, replace) and outline migration sequencing.
Produce architecture deliverables such as: high-level / low-level design documentation, target-state diagrams and reference architectures, and assessment findings, decision points, and risk/mitigation recommendations.
Collaborate with platform and security teams to incorporate security and vulnerability risk into infrastructure recommendations.
Present solutions and tradeoffs to senior architects, technical leadership, and business partners.
Participate in architecture/platform governance and help promote technology standards and emerging best practices.

Required Skills:

5+ years in solutions/application/platform architecture roles (enterprise environment).
Hands-on experience assessing or designing workloads for:
- Kubernetes / containers (K8s, OpenShift, Docker, etc.)
- cloud or hybrid infrastructure and modern deployment patterns
Strong experience documenting architectures and communicating to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Solid understanding of application modernization concepts and migration patterns.

Nice to Have Skills:

Experience with container security concepts.
Familiarity with governance models.
