Job Description

Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: Erie, PA 16531 (100% Onsite)

 

Experience Required: 6–8 Years

Skills:

  • 3DEXPERIENCE Design and Engineering
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) – Product Engineering

Role Description

  • Experience leading multiple projects in parallel, ensuring commitments are well established and met, with regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Experience and familiarity working within an engineering design framework, such as a well-established design review/tollgate process, including:
    • Requirements Traceability
    • Concept Development / Down Select
    • Detailed Analysis
    • Validation Strategy
    • Validation Execution
    • Production Launch
  • Strong decision-making skills. Responsible for deviation review and disposition of non-conforming parts.
  • Demonstrated independent drive and follow-up. Will lead engineering engagement in PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), requiring coordination with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including:
    • Presenting to leadership
    • Interacting with cross-functional peers
    • Providing updates to various stakeholders, including Production, Reliability, Sourcing, etc.
  • Experience and ability to work hands-on in validation and product troubleshooting, navigating progress and addressing roadblocks as they arise.

Technical Experience

  • Drawing, documentation, and procedure development.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T.
  • Fatigue evaluation and life predictions, including parent material S-N curves, weld evaluation, etc.
  • Mechanical component design and analysis techniques, including:
    • Bolted Joint Analysis
    • FEA
    • CFD
  • Root Cause Analysis techniques, including containment and corrective actions.

Essential Skills

  • Experience leading multiple projects in parallel and ensuring commitments are well established and met with regular stakeholder updates.
