Job description

VCCP is the global challenger network for challenger brands. With more than 1,500 people across 13 offices in North America, EMEA and APAC, we challenge convention to create value for the world’s most ambitious organisations.

Our founding belief is It Only Works If It All Works. That’s why we bring specialists from every discipline - strategy, AI, data, media, digital, experience, branding, creativity, production, PR, CX, CRM, employee engagement and beyond - into one fully integrated challenger network.

We were founded on the principles of simplicity, collaboration and un-preciousness, and we’ve grown by staying true to them. Today, our clients include some of the world’s most recognisable and progressive brands, such as Virgin Media O2, Barclays, Cadbury, Compare the Market, Domino’s, White Claw, easyJet, Primark and Co-op.

VCCP has topped the AAR’s annual new business ranking in 13 of the last 14 years and holds multiple Agency of the Year titles. Across every company and every capability, we share the same ambition: to challenge ourselves, challenge our clients and challenge the industry for the better.

The Role:

As a Managing Partner at VCCP, you will play a pivotal role in leading and growing some of our most important client relationships. Combining strategic, commercial and creative leadership, you will act as a trusted senior adviser to clients, developing strong partnerships and identifying opportunities to drive business growth.

You will inspire and lead multidisciplinary agency teams to deliver bold, innovative and effective integrated work that challenges convention, captures culture and delivers meaningful results for our clients. With responsibility for the overall health and profitability of your business, you will balance exceptional client service, creative ambition and commercial rigour, while championing VCCP's entrepreneurial and challenger spirit.

You will also play a key role in developing talent, fostering a high-performance culture, collaborating across the wider VCCP Partnership and contributing to the agency's continued growth and success.

Key responsibilities and expectations:

Demonstrate absolute client leadership (and beyond)

  • Irrefutable client lead across every aspect of your portfolio, leading and driving activity forward at all times
  • Comfortable leading conversations or having solo conversations with C-suite clients
  • Whilst you will all have a core client portfolio, at this level you are expected to be able to flex to support the wider agency/team as required, which might be working on other clients from time to time, or taking on additional responsibility

Pitch leadership

  • Assume outright leadership of a pitch/new business opportunity, running the process from start to finish without any additional senior support
  • Show calmness, control, commerciality and fine creative judgement to deliver best-in-class pitch responses that can be used as an example around the agency

Agency responsibilities beyond clients

  • Be available to take on and lead any given agency (non-client-based) initiative
  • This could span anything from leading an agency internal comms program, a digital initiative or thought leadership
  • Be comfortable talking in front of the whole agency

Commercial acumen

  • Demonstrate immaculate attention to detail around your client forecasts across the year and be available to support others (e.g. new starters) on best practice in commercial and financial management
  • Where appropriate, take on additional financial responsibility (e.g. example: running a P&L)

Creds and capabilities

  • Know the VCCP creds and capabilities story inside out, so that you can represent the agency in a new business/credentials meeting - whether that's with a prospective new client or a new area of one of your existing clients
  • Ensure you’re totally fluent and up to speed in broadly presenting an overview and talking around our specialist areas: social, retail, Bernadette and data, as well as broader agency offerings such as media, PR and branding (Someone)
  • Keep up to speed with our overall offering both in London and other offices

People Inspiration and Leadership

  • Formally or informally, always look to be a leader in terms of how you inspire, care for and develop staff around the agency
  • Inspire those around you via your overall ways of working and adherence to our agency principles

VCCP DE&I STATEMENT

We believe that DE&I is about creating a strong culture of inclusion within our agency, where everyone can thrive and be their authentic self. VCCP is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of gender, age, disability, religion, belief, sexual orientation, marital status, or ethnicity. CRIMINAL RECORDS INFORMATION

As part of our onboarding process, you will be required to complete a Criminal Records Declaration regarding any unspent convictions. For roles in finance, HR, Legal, IT or senior management, we may be required to verify your declaration with a basic DBS check, as well as an Adverse Finance and ID check.
