Desktop Support Engineer

Location: Hirwaun, Aberdare
Contract: 3 months, inside IR35
Working Pattern: 5 days per week onsite

We're looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to join a busy onsite IT support team in Aberdare on an initial 3-month contract.

This is a hands-on Tech Bar / 1st Line support role, ideal for someone who enjoys helping users face-to-face and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of support requests.


What you'll be doing:
  • Providing 1st Line IT support to users onsite
  • Working within a busy Tech Bar / walk-up support environment
  • Supporting Microsoft 365 applications
  • Password resets and account support
  • Basic laptop, desktop and peripheral troubleshooting
  • Helping with general hardware and software issues
  • Setting up and configuring devices where required
  • Escalating more complex issues to the relevant support teams
  • Delivering friendly and professional customer service

What we're looking for:
  • Previous experience in a 1st Line, Service Desk, IT Support or Tech Bar role
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft 365
  • Experience with password resets and basic user account issues
  • Confident troubleshooting basic hardware and software problems
  • Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Happy to work 5 days per week onsite in Aberdare
