Join our culinary team and start the day with something exceptional! We’re looking for a passionate and energetic individuals to join our kitchen team at Novotel Melbourne Preston.
You’ll play an important role in creating memorable dining experiences for our guests. Working alongside our experienced culinary team, you’ll help deliver a high-quality breakfast offering while building your skills in a fast-paced hotel environment.
Located in Melbourne’s vibrant inner-north, we are a leading conference venue and leisure destination offering contemporary accommodation, stylish dining, and versatile event spaces in the heart of Preston. With 383 guest rooms, 13 conference and event venues, and two on-site dining outlets, our property caters to both corporate and leisure clients.
Easily accessible via the 86 tram and Mernda train line—both within walking distance—and with over 400 on-site parking spaces, our property is ideally positioned. We pride ourselves on delivering professional service, memorable experiences, and flexible solutions to meet the evolving needs of our diverse clientele.
Chef de Partie (CDP)
Take ownership of your section and help deliver consistent, high-quality food across our restaurant and events.
What you’ll bring:
- Previous experience as a CDP or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations
- Ability to lead and support junior team members
- Good understanding of food safety, allergens and hygiene
Commis Chef
An opportunity to build your culinary skills while supporting the kitchen team with preparation, service and day-to-day operations.
What you’ll bring:
- Kitchen experience or relevant culinary training
- Enthusiasm and willingness to learn
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Strong focus on cleanliness and food safety
Demi Chef
Support the Head Chef and wider kitchen team while developing your skills across different sections.
What you’ll bring:
- Previous commercial kitchen experience
- Passion for food and willingness to learn
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
- Food safety and hygiene knowledge
Breakfast Chef
Start the day strong by preparing and delivering a great breakfast experience for our guests.
What you’ll bring:
- Previous breakfast or commercial kitchen experience preferred
- Ability to work efficiently during busy breakfast service
- Good understanding of food preparation and food safety
- Reliable, organised and team-oriented approach
You’ll ideally bring:
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen
- A passion for cooking and delivering quality food
- A strong understanding of food safety and HACCP principles
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop your skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Clear and professional communication skills
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays
- Valid full Australian working rights
