Senior Morpheus Architect

Role Summary
This role requires an experienced senior-level professional with specialized expertise in HPE Morpheus for enterprise workload migration projects. The successful candidate will lead end-to-end migration efforts, owning the process from discovery and assessment to cutover and validation. Operating largely independently, the individual will collaborate minimally with the smaller core infrastructure team, primarily focusing on orchestrating and automating complex migrations across virtualized environments and hybrid cloud infrastructures.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute end-to-end workload migration using HPE Morpheus, including discovery, assessment, cutover, and validation.
• Design and implement migration blueprints and orchestration workflows to automate workload transfer from legacy vSphere environments to VCF and across cloud/hybrid targets.
• Configure and maintain the Morpheus platform, including instances, catalogs, policies, integrations, and access controls.
• Independently identify migration risks, dependencies, sequencing, and develop comprehensive migration plans without direct oversight.
• Integrate Morpheus with VMware infrastructure (vSphere 8 / VCF) to enable workload visibility, provisioning, and lifecycle management.
• Develop automation scripts, Infrastructure as Code, and orchestration tools to ensure repeatability, auditability, and efficiency of migration processes.
• Validate migrated workloads for performance, connectivity, and configuration accuracy, troubleshooting issues autonomously.
• Document migration procedures, decisions, and outcomes clearly for ongoing reference and team use.
• Provide asynchronous communication on project status, risks, and blockers due to limited real-time support from the core team.
• Coordinate lightly with infrastructure and platform teams on shared dependencies such as networking, storage, and VCF timelines.

Qualifications

• Extensive, hands-on experience with HPE Morpheus platform administration, workload onboarding, and migration execution.
• Proven track record of migrating production workloads (VM-based and/or containerized) in enterprise environments.
• Solid understanding of VMware vSphere 8 / VCF environments, including migration tooling such as HCX and vMotion.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code skills for provisioning and migration automation.
• Skilled in scripting and automation to reduce manual effort and support repeatable processes.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, self-scoping, prioritizing, and resolving issues autonomously.
• Excellent documentation skills and proficiency in asynchronous communication.
• Availability for a hybrid work schedule, with flexibility to manage project responsibilities effectively.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Publishing Pay Range: $120.00 - $145.00 hourly

This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
