The Precious Metals Trading team in London plays a pivotal role in Macquarie's global commodities business. The desk covers both financial and physical precious metals markets globally, trading a diverse range of instruments including options, futures, and related contracts. We foster a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment, leveraging fundamental, quantitative, and technical analysis to identify trading opportunities and deliver consistent results. What role will you play?
As a Precious Metals Options Trader, you will be part of a dynamic trading team, proactively identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to grow the business. You will deploy and manage risk while executing trading strategies across precious metals OTC options and major global exchanges.
Building and maintaining relationships with brokers, counterparties, and other market participants is a key aspect of this role. You will analyse market trends, volatility, price movements, and supply and demand fundamentals across global precious metals markets, contributing to the team's ongoing success.
What you offer
- Minimum 3 years' experience in options trading, preferably with exposure to precious metals or other commodities.
- Good understanding of options markets, including volatility, pricing, and risk-management principles.
- Experience managing trading positions and risk, with the capability to take increasing ownership of risk-taking decisions.
- Knowledge of precious-metals fundamentals (e.g. Platinum Group Metals) and their application to market views and trading strategies would be advantageous.
- Strong entrepreneurial drive with the ability to independently source and structure new opportunities
- Demonstrated success in high-pressure trading environments and collaborative team settings
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and communication skills, with an established network in the precious metals trading community
- Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous
- Technically skilled in Excel and AI coding tools
