Senior Fullstack Engineer (Magento + PHP)

Title: Full Stack Engineer

Rate $60/hr - $70/hr on c2c

Job description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Platform Support Team, with deep expertise in Magento and a strong foundation in modern PHP frameworks. This role is ideal for a engineer who enjoys architecting scalable eCommerce solutions, leading complex integrations, mentoring developers, troubleshooting and working across a diverse PHP ecosystem. You will play a key role in developing, optimizing, and supporting high-performance applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

l  Develop and support scalable Magento customizations and enhancements

l  Build and support API integrations with third-party systems (CRM, ERP, payment gateways, etc.)

l  Develop, optimize, and support RESTful and SOAP APIs

l  Work with data formats including JSON and XML

l  Contribute across the stack, including frontend and backend development

l  Collaborate with Product, DevOps, QA, and design teams to deliver high-quality features and releases

l  Participate in technical planning, architecture discussions, and solution design

l  Lead code reviews and promote development best practices and coding standards

l  Troubleshoot, optimize, and scale existing systems for performance and reliability

l  Mentor junior and mid-level developers within the Platform Support team

l  Support CI/CD processes and deployment workflows in cloud-based environments

Required Qualifications:

l  Strong hands-on development experience with Magento / Adobe Commerce

l  Expert-level understanding of PHP and modern PHP frameworks such as Symfony and/or Laravel

l  Has experience integrating and supporting RESTful APIs and SOAP services

l  Hands-on experience integrating third-party systems (CRM, ERP, payment gateways, etc.)

l  Strong understanding of Magento architecture, modules, dependency injection, and customization best practices

l  Proficiency working with JSON and XML data structures

l  Ability to troubleshoot complex application, integration, and business logic issues

l  Strong experience with MySQL / MariaDB database design and query optimization

l  Experience working in scalable cloud-based or distributed environments

l  Ability to work across multiple PHP-based platforms and services as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

l  Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Drupal or Joomla

l  Experience with Product Information Management (PIM) platforms such as Pimcore

l  Frontend experience with Vue.js (preferred) or React

l  Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills

l  Experience with Magento performance optimization and caching strategies

l  Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Redis, Varnish, and RabbitMQ

l  Experience supporting high-traffic eCommerce environments

Familiarity with:

l  Composer (dependency management)

l  Docker and containerized/virtualized environments

l  Cloud platforms such as AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3) and/or Azure

l  CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices Git workflows and release management processes

l  Agile/Scrum development methodologies

l  Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications) or equivalent hands-on experience

l  7+ years of experience developing and maintaining Magento and PHP-based applications

l  Experience working in enterprise or large-scale eCommerce environments preferred
