Job Description

Automatic Door Engineer / Multi-Skilled Door Engineer

South of England – Bournemouth, Southampton, Portsmouth, Brighton, Swindon & Surrounding Areas
£16.00–£21.00 per hour DOE + Overtime + On-Call Allowance

Are you an experienced Automatic Door Engineer looking for your next opportunity? Or perhaps you're a multi-skilled door engineer with a strong background in automatic doors?

We're recruiting for a well-established engineering company looking to strengthen its team across the South of England.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who already has automatic door experience but would also like to develop their skills across industrial doors, or for an experienced multi-skilled engineer with a strong automatic door background.

The Role

This is a field-based position covering an area stretching from Bournemouth up to Swindon, across towards the M25 and down to Brighton, including Southampton, Portsmouth and surrounding areas.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Servicing, maintaining and repairing automatic door systems

  • Fault-finding and diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues

  • Carrying out installations and repairs where required

  • Working across a range of automatic door equipment and manufacturers

  • Developing your skills across industrial door systems, with training available

  • Providing a high standard of service to customers across your region

What's on Offer?
  • £16.00–£21.00 per hour, depending on experience

  • 37.5-hour working week

  • Overtime paid at 1.5x after 37.5 hours

  • Sundays paid at double time for hours worked on site

  • 1-in-6 on-call rota

  • £85 standby allowance

  • £25 per call-out, plus applicable overtime rates

  • 20 days' annual leave plus bank holidays

  • Opportunity to develop your skills across both automatic and industrial doors

  • Join an established engineering team with opportunities for further development

What We're Looking For
  • Experience servicing, maintaining and fault-finding on automatic doors

  • Ideally, experience across both automatic and industrial door systems

  • Alternatively, an Automatic Door Engineer keen to develop into a multi-skilled role

  • Good electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload

  • A customer-focused approach

  • Full UK driving licence

Automatic door experience is important for this position, as the company is specifically looking to strengthen its existing expertise in this area.

You don't need to be experienced in industrial doors already, as there is an opportunity to develop those skills.

If you're an experienced Automatic Door Engineer looking for a new opportunity across the South of England, we'd love to hear from you.
