Title: Senior Data Steward
Location: Manhattan, New York

Role Overview
  • We are looking for a Senior Data Steward to help build practical, enterprise-wide data governance
  • across business domains and a modern AWS/Databricks ecosystem.
  • You will partner with business Data Owners, Product, Privacy, and Engineering teams to translate
  • business needs into clear ownership, trusted definitions, data contracts, quality standards, and scalable
  • controls—ensuring critical data is trustworthy and fit for reporting, analytics, and AI.
What You’ll Own
  • Partner with business Data Owners and subject-matter experts to establish data ownership,
  • critical data elements, business definitions, glossaries, data dictionaries, and metadata.
  • Define data contracts and quality expectations, including SLAs, schema-change controls, and
  • producer-consumer accountability.
  • Classify PII and sensitive data and translate privacy, access, retention, and permitted-use
  • requirements into practical controls.
  • Maintain end-to-end business and technical lineage across source systems, pipelines, and
  • analytical data products.
  • Lead governance discussions, prioritize issues based on business impact, and coordinate
  • remediation of material data-quality concerns.
  • Embed consistent governance standards, measurable controls, and stewardship practices into
  • AWS and Databricks modernization initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
  • 7+ yrs of experience in data governance, data stewardship, data quality, or data management.
  • Experience building or maturing governance capabilities, not just operating established
  • processes.
  • Strong knowledge of metadata, lineage, data classification, privacy, access governance, data
  • quality, and data contracts.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, data profiling, root-cause analysis, and modern cloud platforms.
  • Experience with an enterprise data catalog or governance platform such as Databricks Unity
  • Catalog, Collibra, Alation, or Informatica.
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder-management skills across business, Product, Engineering,
  • Privacy, Cybersecurity, Risk, and executive teams.
Preferred Experience
  • Hands-on exposure to Databricks, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and AWS.
  • Experience with media and streaming domains such as content, audience, advertising,
  • subscriptions, customer identity, or digital engagement.
  • Experience supporting large-scale cloud modernization and governed analytics or AI use cases.
