Rust Developer Needed/Finance/Trading Developer/Remote

Our client, a fast-growing options and stocks market data company, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for a full time, remote role. The platform handles billions of low-latency data requests daily and is built on a Rust and Java stack with Python, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, RedPanda, and gRPC.

This is a hands on, high ownership role on a lean, fast growing engineering team where every millisecond counts. You'll help architect greenfield systems rather than just maintain legacy code, working directly with senior technical leadership on some of the most complex data problems in financial markets. It's a great fit for an engineer who wants outsized impact, rapid growth, and real influence over technical direction.

Required Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience building high-throughput, low-latency, concurrent systems in Rust (financial markets, crypto exchanges, gaming, ad-impression, real-time bidding, etc.)
• A demonstrated obsession with shaving latency and maximizing throughput - tail latency (p99/p999), not just averages
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and systems-level thinking
• Deep familiarity with Rust's ownership model, borrow checker, and zero-cost abstractions in performance-critical contexts
• Experience with low-level network programming (raw sockets/TCP, custom protocol design)
• Experience designing or consuming gRPC/Protobuf-based APIs
• Experience profiling and optimizing Rust under heavy load

Daily Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale backend services handling billions of requests daily with tight, predictable latency
• Build and optimize the pipelines that ingest, cache, persist, and stream billions of market ticks per day at maximum sustained throughput
• Architect new systems and contribute to technical direction, with performance and latency as first-class design constraints, not afterthoughts
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across the stack, from network I/O to memory layout to query execution
• Collaborate directly with the team and senior technical leadership
