Job description

SLD Tutor | Birmingham, United Kingdom | Hybrid | £28 - £35 per hour

We are hiring for an impact-driven organization dedicated to transforming the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Join our community to deliver flexible, trauma-informed support and make a significant difference in your local area.

The Role

  • Provide in-person, online, and hybrid tuition in Maths, English, or Science to young people with SEND and SEMH.
  • Support pupils from KS1 to KS5, planning and delivering tailored, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring.
  • Work with schools and local authorities to help disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners.
  • Report on lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress.
  • Contribute to raising the standard of education for young people with diverse learning difficulties, including MLD, SLD, and PMLD.

What You'll Need

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS).
  • Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience, preferably with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or PMLD.
  • Familiarity with teaching English, Maths, and/or Science.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment.
  • Enhanced DBS check (assistance provided if needed) and 2 professional references.
  • UK residency with the right to work in the UK.
