Project Manager

Job Title: Project Manager (PMP)
Location: Austin, TX (100% Onsite)
Duration: Multi-Year Contract

Important Submission Requirements

• Candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Austin, TX (No Relocation).
• Must have prior experience working for a Texas State Agency or a Department of Public Safety (Texas or another state).
• Candidates with upcoming travel plans within the next two weeks will not be considered.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
• PMP Certification is highly preferred.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience managing large-scale, complex IT or business transformation projects.
• Strong knowledge of PMI/PMBOK, Agile, Hybrid, and traditional project management methodologies.
• Proven experience developing and managing project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and project roadmaps.
• Demonstrated success managing multiple cross-functional stakeholders across technical and business organizations.
• Extensive experience with risk management, issue tracking, dependency management, and change control processes.
• Strong executive-level written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using project management tools such as:
  • Microsoft Project
  • Smartsheet
  • Jira
  • Azure DevOps (preferred)
  • Similar enterprise PM tools
• Experience ensuring compliance with organizational governance, procurement policies, and project management standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) or another Texas State Agency.
• Experience supporting Public Safety, Law Enforcement, or State Government initiatives.
• Experience managing projects under State procurement frameworks such as:
  • FAST
  • DIR
  • Other State contracting frameworks
• PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification.
• Experience managing:
  • Enterprise application implementations
  • Data systems
  • IT modernization initiatives
  • Business transformation programs
