Senior Full Stack & Cloud Platform Engineer

Location: Remote (Remote)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack & Cloud Platform Engineer to play a foundational role in the development and productization of a cloud-hosted platform. This individual will design and develop scalable cloud-native applications while helping establish the AWS architecture, deployment patterns, security controls, observability, and engineering standards required to operate the enterprise platform. The ideal candidate combines software engineering experience with AWS knowledge and is comfortable working across front-end, back-end, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test and maintain full-stack capabilities for the cloud platform.
  • Define and evolve the AWS architecture supporting applications and services.
  • Develop scalable APIs and microservices supporting tools, agents, analytics applications, and data services.
  • Build reusable patterns that simplify onboarding of new applications and analytical tools.
  • Implement cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
  • Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
  • Implement authentication and authorization patterns, including enterprise SSO, IAM, RBAC and application-level access controls.
  • Design secure mechanisms for managing application secrets, credentials, configuration, and environment variables.
  • Establish application observability through logging, monitoring, metrics, tracing, and alerting.
  • Improve application reliability, scalability, performance, and resilience.
  • Partner with Data Engineering and AI/ML team members to operationalize data and AI services.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Establish technical standards and engineering best practices for the cloud platform.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Experience developing production applications using Python and/or modern backend technologies.
  • Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular or equivalent.
  • Hands-on AWS experience.
  • Experience with AWS services such as ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, IAM, Secrets Manager and related services.
  • Understanding of REST APIs, distributed systems and cloud-native application architecture.
  • Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform, AWS CDK or CloudFormation.
  • Understanding of application security, authentication, authorization and enterprise identity management.
  • Experience working in Agile product development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Developer certification.
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Experience implementing enterprise SSO using OAuth2, OIDC, SAML or Active Directory.
  • Experience with AI/ML or LLM-enabled applications.
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or reusable application frameworks.
  • Experience with industrial, energy, IoT, SCADA or operational technology environments.
