This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced network engineer with strong Network Services expertise who is looking to transition into architecture, as well as an architect who is relatively early in their architecture career. The Senior Architect will work closely with Network Engineering and other Technical Architects to develop architectures, high-level designs, standards, LLD templates, golden configurations, and implementation guidelines. This is a Senior-level architecture position where the successful candidate will have meaningful technical ownership while working alongside experienced Principal Architects who will provide mentorship and guidance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture for DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and related network services.
  • Develop network services reference architectures, standards, design patterns, and implementation guidelines.
  • Design scalable, resilient, and secure Network Services solutions for a global enterprise environment.
  • Develop standards for DNS, DHCP, IPAM, address allocation, name resolution, service resiliency, and related infrastructure.
  • Evaluate Network Services technologies and architectures for scalability, security, resiliency, and operational effectiveness.
  • Contribute to Network Services technology roadmaps and lifecycle planning.
  • Partner with Engineering and platform teams to ensure Network Services architectures are practical and supportable.
  • Develop high-level designs for enterprise LAN, WAN, routing, switching, and related network technologies.
  • Apply strong LAN/WAN knowledge when designing and integrating Network Services solutions.
  • Evaluate network designs for scalability, resiliency, security, and operational effectiveness.
  • Participate in LAN/WAN technology evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and architecture assessments.
  • Contribute to broader network architecture standards and reference designs.
  • Develop and maintain LLD templates, golden configurations, and configuration standards for Network Services and assigned LAN/WAN technologies.
  • Translate approved architecture and reference designs into practical, repeatable engineering solutions.
  • Partner with Network Engineering to validate and continuously improve these standards.
  • Develop implementation patterns that can be consistently applied across the enterprise.
  • Validate configurations and implementations against approved architecture standards, reference architectures, golden configurations, HLDs, and LLDs.
  • Perform architecture and standards compliance reviews.
  • Identify deviations from established standards and work with Engineering to resolve or formally document exceptions.
  • Provide technical guidance when implementations require interpretation of architecture standards.
  • Establish feedback loops between Architecture and Engineering to continuously improve standards and implementation practices.
  • Own assigned Network Services and LAN/WAN architecture initiatives and deliverables.
  • Review engineering designs and provide architectural guidance.
  • Mentor network engineers and share technical knowledge.
  • Create Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and maintain architecture documentation.
  • Collaborate with Wireless, Security, Cloud, Desktop Compute, and other technical architects.
  • Work with vendors and technology partners on technical capabilities and solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of enterprise networking experience, with significant experience in Network Services and LAN/WAN environments.
  • Strong practical experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Infoblox DDI Professional (DDIP) certification preferred.
  • CCIE certification Required.
  • Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, IP Address Management (IPAM), Enterprise LAN/WAN/SDWAN architecture, Routing and switching, BGP and OSPF, IPv4/IPv6, Network resiliency and high availability, and Network security principles.
  • Experience developing or working with network standards and design documentation.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across Architecture and Engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with enterprise DDI platforms, such as Infoblox.
  • Experience developing Network Services HLDs and LLDs.
  • Experience creating and maintaining golden configurations.
  • Experience with Cisco enterprise networking technologies.
  • Experience with SD-WAN.
  • Experience with network automation and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and observability.
  • Experience with cloud and hybrid network architectures.
  • Experience working in a large global enterprise environment.
