Job Type : 1099/C2C Contract
Bill rate : $80/Hr on c2c
Location : Remote
Duration : 10 months
Work Authorization: US-Citizen, H-1B, OPT-EAD, GC-EAD

About the Role:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior SQL DBA to serve as the technical authority for their critical database ecosystems. This role is primarily focused on Microsoft SQL Server, with additional support for open-source and legacy database technologies. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can architect high-availability solutions, optimize performance at scale, and mentor junior team members.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Designing and implementing HA/DR solutions (SQL Server Clustering, Always On Availability Groups)
Performance tuning using SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and DMVs
Developing complex T-SQL scripts for automation and administration
Managing SQL Server upgrades, CUs, and SPs with minimal downtime
Providing cross-platform support for MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL
Maintaining legacy systems including Microsoft Access and Oracle PL/SQL
Owning backup/recovery strategy and ensuring RPO/RTO targets are met
Implementing security best practices (TDE, auditing, RBAC)
Assisting with Azure migration or hybrid management

Must-Have Qualifications:

8+ years as a SQL Server DBA in an enterprise environment
Deep expertise in SQL Server Clustering and Always On Availability Groups
Advanced T-SQL scripting skills
Proven HA/DR design and implementation experience
Strong performance tuning capabilities
Hands-on experience with MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL
Experience with Microsoft Access and Oracle PL/SQL
Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300) – Required

Nice-to-Have:

MCSA/MCSE in SQL Server / Data Management
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates)
PowerShell for database automation
Third-party monitoring tools (Redgate, SolarWinds, Idera)
