Geotab is seeking a Field Service Technical Specialist who will support customers, installers, product teams, and field service initiatives through technical expertise, installation quality, and innovative solutions. What you'll do:
As a Field Service Technical Specialist, your key area of responsibility will be supporting product development, customer implementations, installation partners, pilot programs, and field service quality. You will provide technical support for product design, installations, testing, troubleshooting, installer certification, audits, documentation, and strategic initiatives. You will work closely with Product, R&D, Sales, Field Services, Learning and Development, customers, resellers, and installation partners to ensure Geotab solutions are designed, installed, and supported effectively.
To be successful in this role, you will be organized, adaptable, detail-oriented, entrepreneurial, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. You will bring strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, relationship-building, and customer service skills, along with the ability to learn new technical information and share it effectively with others.
How you'll make an impact:

Provide design support for the New Product team, analyzing user’s requirements, defining product specifications, field and simulation testing.

Support customers with technical details, technical specifications and data requirements based on Geotab product offerings.

Support sales with technical applications based on requirements from Resellers / Customers.

Support Installation partners and their installers real time when necessary.

Provide specific technical installation requirements and wiring schematics

Stay relevant to new advances in technology and be flexible to adapt to the growing market demands.

Be innovative through researching and presenting new ideas.

Create and Implement Installer Certification Tests

Update modules with latest Geotab Product information

Participate in installer performance evaluation and audits.

Ensure company installation quality standards are communicated and adhered to in the field.

Update all installation documents and product guides with latest information.

Work with installers to ensure they understand and use the Field Services department price list for installation services.

When required, perform installations in the field as a part of an installation demonstration, installation training or Pilot projects.

Create Installation videos and guides by taking photo sets and video content in conjunction with our L&D Teams.

Send out feedback surveys, support Field Services invoicing processes, and update the ticketing system.

Continually seek and suggest methods to improve both internal and external systems and processes within the organization, especially as related to installations and onsite services.

Source and qualify new installation partners.

Resolve installer issues and concerns.

Support Geotab global strategic initiatives.
What you'll bring to this role:

Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree or equivalent experience required.

Experience working as an installation field service specialist in Telematics, Automotive industry, or equivalent.

Experience with OBD and CAN communications, SAE vehicle standards, and serial data interfaces.

Experience with both hardware and software integration required.

In-depth knowledge of automotive electronic components.

Experience managing third-party contractor relationships.

Proficiency with automotive/electronics test equipment and hand tools.

Knowledge of communications systems and networks, including Cellular, GPS, and serial data.

Strong interpersonal relationship-building, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
-
Ability to travel internationally up to 40% of the time.
