AI Software Engineer

Successfully achieved Investors in People award for the last 20+ years and continue to invest in self-development for all internal teams. My clients operates the software development arm of the business from a Chesterfield location.

As part of continued expansion within the software development team my client has immediate requirements for an experienced AI Developer to work on both AI and data software to support the development of new features and applications including API integrations.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established development team with at least 5 years commercial backend development experience including 2 years working on and integrating AI system agents and features within a C# .NET environment.

Due to the nature of the work involved you will be required to attend my clients Chesterfield office at least 2 days per week with Wednesday becoming a set day for all staff to work in the office. However, there maybe some flexibility for remote working for the right person.

Some key requirements include:

Design and build scalable backend services using C#. NET

Integration of LLMs (local / self-hosted)

SignalR real-time communication experience

OOP and Entity Frameworks

Dependency injection

PostgreSQL / SQL Servers / Vector Search / RAG

API integration experience

AI tools - Claude Code or GitHub Copilot

Hands-on experience using OpenAI or Anthropic

Highly desirable:

Python — AI tooling and evaluation scripts

MCP server build experience

Cyber Resilience Act and AI Act insight

Undertake code reviews

Knowledge sharing of AI best practice
