The Principal Engineer is responsible for developing, enhancing, and influencing the organisation's technical roadmap. He/She drives sustainable manufacturing strategies by managing integration of all module processes for lean manufacturing in accordance with organisation's requirements.

Our client is a 480+ employee national A/E firm, and they are looking for a new Principal to lead their Community Practice. With collaboration from other market leaders, this individual will help drive the strategic and long-term vision for the firm’s Community Practice.

What we are looking for:

• Highly accountable, you approach every project with an eagerness to bring a client’s vision to life with previous experience working on local government projects like Town Halls, Police and Fire Stations, and libraries. Additional project experience with Churches, Museums, and/or Industrial projects is a plus.

• With a thorough understanding of current trends and areas of growth within the industry, you confidently identify thoughtful solutions to complicated design problems

• Leveraging previous leadership experience, your people-management skills allow you to mentor and grow young professionals

• You thrive in a communicative, team-based work environment

• Establish and nurture relationships with clients

• Participate in general office operations

• Collaborate with the other Principals to conceive and implement annual business development plans

• Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of intricate projects involving numerous team members

• Provide oversight for marketing, contract development, design, production, and construction administration efforts

• Engage in succession planning to prepare future leaders

Responsibilities:

  • Engage in maintaining existing clients.
  • Collaborate with the other Principals in conceiving and implementing annual business development plans
  • 12+ years of planning and project management in leading projects.
  • Provide oversight for marketing, contract development, design, production, and construction administration.
  • Effectively manage communication and coordination with and between clients, team members, and consultants.
  • Manage and mentor staff to create a collaborative culture.
  • Work with the appropriate support teams to complete revenue and billing tasks.
  • Execute team member training as established by strategic plans
  • Serve as a Project Manager when necessary
  • PE (PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER) license

Qualifications

  • You must be a registered and licensed engineer with a professional engineering license.
  • You have excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and technical skills.
  • You utilize a strength-based approach to engage team members in their daily tasks, focusing on their capabilities rather than their weaknesses.
  • You know how to coach your team both independently and as a whole, inspiring enthusiasm and encouraging when needed
  • You can establish short and long-term goals and create appropriate timelines for their completion, subsequently assigning specialized teams to accommodate related needs.
  • You can communicate effectively with internal and external personnel
  • You can efficiently balance projects, teams, deadlines and budgets
  • You have an aptitude for creative problem-solving, particularly in time-sensitive situations which require fast turnaround
