The work
The SAP ABAP Developer is responsible for performing complex business and systems analysis, designing technical solutions, and developing high‑quality code across enterprise SAP environments. This role supports enhancements, new development, and modernization efforts by translating business requirements into detailed technical designs and executable code.

You will work directly with SAP Functional Consultants and client stakeholders to evaluate solution alternatives, provide recommendations, and ensure alignment with overall system architecture. Responsibilities include preparing programming specifications, developing diagrams and logic flowcharts, executing coding tasks, and supporting component testing. The role also includes planning activities such as budgeting, staffing, and forecasting, as well as mentoring and leading junior developers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Translate detailed business requirements into enterprise-grade application designs
  • Collaborate with SAP Functional Consultants and client teams to analyze alternatives and recommend optimal solutions
  • Prepare programming specifications, diagrams, logic flowcharts, and related technical documentation
  • Develop and test SAP ABAP code for complex system enhancements and requirements
  • Support planning activities including budgeting, staffing, and overall work planning
  • Lead and mentor junior developers, supporting technical skill growth and professional development

Here’s what you need:

  • 7 + years SAP development experience
  • Experience with RAP and/or on-stack ABAP Cloud development on S/4HANA

Eligibility requirements:

  • US Citizens only (no dual citizenship)
  • Eligible to obtain a minimum of a Secret Clearance
  • Must reside locally in St. Louis, MO or be willing to travel to St. Louis weekly to work onsite at the client location

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. The pay range for the states of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia is:
$91,700—$246,400 USD
