Workday Systems Analyst / HRIS Systems Analyst

Location: Warren, MI or Austin, TX - Local candidates only
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Duration: 12+ Months

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Workday Systems Analyst / HRIS Systems Analyst to support enterprise HR technology initiatives. This role will evaluate the design of HR technology projects and recommend effective technical solutions based on business requirements, system capabilities, and industry best practices.

The selected candidate will lead projects through the full lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, implementation, testing, integration, and production support. The analyst will serve as a key technical liaison between HR business stakeholders, internal IT teams, external vendors, and technology partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead global HR technology projects and enterprise-level initiatives with minimal supervision.

  • Partner with HR business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and recommend scalable technical solutions.

  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between HR teams, IT, suppliers, vendors, and technology partners.

  • Own assigned HRIS functionality, integrations, technical solutions, and technology roadmaps.

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve business-process, system, integration, and data-quality issues.

  • Coordinate project planning and delivery across business, IT, and third-party teams.

  • Participate in all phases of the IT Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-production support.

  • Translate business requirements into system enhancements, features, workflows, and technical solutions.

  • Evaluate existing HR processes and recommend technology and workflow improvements.

  • Develop, maintain, and prioritize technical roadmaps aligned with business objectives.

  • Perform data analysis and data mining to identify trends, investigate issues, and support business decisions.

  • Ensure HR technology solutions and integrations meet accessibility, localization, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor project risks, dependencies, milestones, and deliverables.

  • Provide project status updates, issue escalation, and resolution plans to stakeholders.

  • Develop technical documentation, process documentation, and solution designs.

  • Provide technical training, knowledge transfer, and mentorship to team members.

  • Stay current with Workday, HRIS, supplier systems, integrations, and emerging HR technology.

  • Promote technical standards, governance, reusable solutions, and continuous improvement.

  • Build effective relationships with global stakeholders and maintain strong internal customer service.

  • Manage multiple priorities independently and drive assigned deliverables through completion.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience as a Workday Systems Analyst, HRIS Systems Analyst, HR Technology Analyst, or similar role.

  • Strong understanding of HR business processes and enterprise HR technology platforms.

  • Proven experience leading technical projects from requirements gathering through implementation and production support.

  • Experience supporting HRIS functionality, system enhancements, integrations, and troubleshooting.

  • Strong skills in requirements gathering, business analysis, technical documentation, and solution design.

  • Experience identifying and resolving system, integration, business-process, and data-quality issues.

  • Understanding of the complete IT Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

  • Experience coordinating projects involving IT teams, business stakeholders, suppliers, and external vendors.

  • Strong analytical, data-analysis, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience developing and managing technical roadmaps.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong presentation and stakeholder-management capabilities.

  • Ability to work independently and lead enterprise-level initiatives with minimal supervision.

  • Strong organizational and project-management skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting global or multi-region HR technology implementations.

  • Hands-on experience with Workday functionality, integrations, reporting, security, or release management.

  • Experience with system accessibility, localization, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.

  • Experience providing technical training, mentoring, or knowledge transfer.

  • Experience with HR data analysis, data mining, integration monitoring, and HRIS governance.
