Job Description

MANTECH is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Windows Engineer, to join our team in Laurel, MD.

Become an integral part of a diverse team that delivers enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global workforce performing a wide range of missions in defense of our Nation. It is the contract vehicle for the Enterprise Infrastructure Services organization overseeing MPO’s Enterprise Information Technology (EIT). EIT is MPO’s backbone- platform for all Enterprise users. Data Center & Compute Services is the EIS enabling organization working with customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPT), and vendors to deliver select EIT.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provision, manage, and support Windows servers across online and air-gapped networks.
  • Configure network adapters, storage, firewalls, and connected core services.
  • Deploy monitoring tools to detect system anomalies and prevent service disruptions.
  • Perform root cause analysis on outages and implement preventive fixes.
  • Support hardware, software, and appliance deployments, upgrades, and security patching.
  • Translate user requirements and system architectures into technical specifications.
  • Provide Tier 1–3 help desk support for client, server, and network issues.
  • Manage OS patching, hardware maintenance, and account administration (passwords/tickets).

Schedule:

  • Core hours are 1000-1400 Monday-Friday to ensure overlap with the team, attendance is expected outside of this window as needed to support meetings, deployments, and team activities.
  • The system administration team is expected to have on-site coverage 0600-1800 Monday-Friday and schedules will be coordinated with other members of the team to ensure this coverage.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of relevant experience, associate’s degree and 15 years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma and 20 years of relevant experience.  
  • Active CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Experience with Active Directory & GPO Administration
  • Experience with tools such as SaltStack for Infrastructure Automation
  • Experience with VMware virtualization and VDI deployments utilizing Omnissa Horizon (formerly VMware Horizon)
  • Experience with Privileged Access Management (PAM): Implement and maintain tools such as Centrify to enforce security controls and meet compliance standards.

Preferred Technical Qualifications:

  • Experience with PowerShell for task automation and configuration management
  • Experience managing secure computing environments to adhere with DISA STIGs and NIST 800-53 controls.
  • Experience with Ansible (environment is currently utilizing SALT but will transition to Ansible in the future)
  • Experience with Linux and RedHat

Clearance Requirement:

  • Must have a TS/SCI with Polygraph
