EHR Security Support Analyst

Job Overview

The EHR Security Support Analyst will be responsible for supporting the security, access management, user provisioning, and security operations of the Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR) environment. The role provides technical and functional support for EHR security configuration, user access, security roles, authentication, auditing, and access-related troubleshooting.

The analyst will work closely with the EHR Security Officer, EHR Application/Core teams, Information Security Office (ISO), HIPAA Compliance, IT Technical Support, Clinical, Operational, Privacy, and Application Support teams to ensure users receive appropriate access based on job responsibilities, organizational policies, and security requirements.

The position also provides Tier 1 support to EHR end users for security and access-related issues and assists with security audits, incident investigations, upgrades, patches, and ongoing optimization of the EHR security environment.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 3+ years of IT experience.
• 3+ years of healthcare IT experience.
• Strong hands-on understanding of Cerner Millennium and OHPAC security positions.
• Strong understanding of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and healthcare application security.
• Experience with Cerner Millennium security, user provisioning, access management, and role-based security.
• Understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, Meaningful Use/Meaningful User requirements, and other healthcare security and compliance regulations.
• Experience with Active Directory (AD), Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and identity/access management solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, particularly related to Cerner/OHPAC security and access issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with IT, clinical, application, security, compliance, privacy, and business teams.
• Familiarity with healthcare IT infrastructure, including networking, firewalls, databases, and database security.
• Knowledge of Cerner Discern and CCL.
• Experience working with security policies, access-control procedures, audit requirements, and user lifecycle management.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting Cerner Millennium/OHPAC in a large healthcare or government healthcare environment.
• Experience with EHR security audits and access reviews.
• Knowledge of role-based access control (RBAC) and least-privilege principles.
