Our client, a leading $15bn+ global multi-strategy hedge fund, is seeking an accomplished investment professional to join the firm as Global Sector Head, Financials Equity Research.

This represents a rare opportunity for a highly regarded Financials investor to lead one of the industry's most respected centralized research platforms. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for directing the firm's global Financials research effort, overseeing idea generation, investment conviction, and sector-wide research priorities across a large and sophisticated analytical organization.

The Opportunity

As Global Sector Head, you will:

• Lead the firm's global Financials equity research effort across banks, insurance, specialty finance, asset managers, exchanges, fintech, and related subsectors.
• Manage and mentor a team of Financials-focused analysts within a broader global equity research organization comprising 50+ analysts worldwide.
• Drive the research agenda, prioritization, and resource allocation across the Financials sector.
• Generate differentiated long/short investment insights and maintain a high-conviction view of key sector opportunities and risks.
• Partner closely with portfolio managers/traders across both discretionary and systematic investment strategies.
• Establish best practices around fundamental research, variant perception analysis, financial modelling, channel checks, management interaction, and investment underwriting.
• Act as a senior thought leader within the organization, helping shape broader investment discussions and capital allocation decisions.
• Contribute to the continued evolution and growth of one of the industry's premier centralized research platforms.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Extensive experience investing within Long/Short Equities, with deep expertise across the Financials sector.
• A proven track record developing differentiated investment views and generating alpha through fundamental equity research.
• Previous experience as a Portfolio Manager or senior investor with responsibility for capital allocation and investment decision-making.
• Strong leadership capabilities and prior experience managing, mentoring, or developing investment professionals.
• Exceptional analytical and communication skills, with the ability to influence investment decisions across multiple stakeholders.
• A collaborative mindset and a desire to operate within a team-oriented research culture.
