Job Description

The HSE Manager will own and elevate RVT’s internal Health, Safety & Environmental strategy, assuring full compliance across operations, depots, engineering activities, logistics, site installations, R&D and customer engagements.

Requirements

1. Leadership & Governance

  • Develop and implement RVT’s HSE strategy.
  • Inform and engage the Executive team and Board on HSE performance and HSE improvement decisions
  • Champion a proactive safety culture.

2. Compliance & Standards

  • Own all policies, procedures, audits, and compliance frameworks.
  • Assure compliance with UK HSE legislation.
  • Lead responses to audit findings.
  • Oversee statutory inspections, equipment compliance and testing.

3. Operational Oversight

  • Lead HSE risk management with line management across RVT activities, including development of improved RAMS.
  • Set up RVT HSE & 5”S” program, train and implement resources
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits across facilities, operations, and on clients’ sites (as per RVT HSE & 5”S” program deployment plan)

4. Training, Culture & Competence

  • Develop and deliver HSE training programmes.
  • Coach staff across all functions.

5. Environmental Responsibility

  • Lead environmental sustainability initiatives.
  • Monitor and reduce environmental impacts.

6. Incident & Risk Management

  • Lead investigations, root cause analysis and the development of effective improvement actions, subsequently ensuring their timely closure
  • Manage RIDDOR and environmental reporting.

7. Stakeholder & Client Engagement

  • Support client audits.
  • Provide HSE input for significant projects.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • NEBOSH Diploma
  • CMIOSH strongly preferred, or working towards and close to achieving
  • Strong understanding of hazard control environments
  • Effective communication at all levels within an organisation to deliver HSE performance improvement
