Job Description

RTL POWER DESIGN ENGINEER

Position: RTL Power Design Engineer
Location: Remote
Time Zone: CST
Experience: 3+ Years
Focus: CPU Architecture | Power Analysis | Power Optimization | Energy Modeling

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive CPU architecture and system-level energy modeling activities.
  • Perform competitive performance and power analysis.
  • Develop power optimization, simulation, and rollup methodologies.
  • Develop power analysis techniques, optimization engines, and tooling solutions.
  • Support CPU power analysis, power projections, and requirements definition.
  • Profile power consumption across typical workloads such as YouTube, Facebook, and other representative applications.
  • Perform workload analysis for battery life and define power tests.
  • Conduct data mining at RTL and gate level to identify relevant micro-architectural transactions for high-level power estimation.
  • Analyze power data and identify opportunities for power and PPA optimization.
  • Collaborate with CPU architecture, RTL, verification, performance, and system teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of industry experience or equivalent research experience.
  • Strong understanding of low-power design fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of dynamic and leakage power concepts.
  • Experience with power estimation and optimization.
  • Experience in data analytics, workload profiling, and power analysis.
  • Flow automation and scripting experience using Python | C | C++ | Gemini.
  • Experience with power analysis/vendor tools such as PTPX | Ansys PowerArtist | Synopsys PrimePower RTL.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 5 years of RTL design and low-power design experience.
  • Familiarity with power management, retention, and DVFS.
  • Experience with data science and data analytics.
  • Experience with CPU benchmarking and performance analysis.
  • Experience conducting competitive CPU studies.
  • Strong understanding of CPU microarchitecture and system-level concepts.
  • Experience analyzing power across different workloads, operating conditions, and performance states.
