Embedded Software Engineer | Rancho Santa Fe, CA, United States | Hybrid

We're hiring on behalf of a leading defense technology enterprise dedicated to protecting national security through advanced solutions. This organization is at the forefront of electronic design and chiplet manufacturing, focusing on research and development for cutting-edge applications. They operate in dynamic, agile development environments, transforming advanced algorithms into real-time software systems for rapid field demonstrations.

The Role

  • Contribute to the design and development of advanced embedded systems within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Develop high-performance software for various microarchitectures (e.g., DSP, ARM, RISC-V) and multi-core embedded systems.
  • Design and implement components for software development kits (SDKs) to facilitate user adoption of novel SoC products.
  • Execute validation and verification testing to ensure hardware and software performance meets customer expectations.
  • Build and document test plans, procedures, and software requirements specifications.
  • Write low-level C code to interface with hardware components and registers.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • 4+ years of software development experience, with strong C/C++ experience for embedded systems.
  • Experience with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and build tools (e.g., GCC, CMake).
  • Strong understanding of hardware-software interaction and computer architecture.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins).
  • Experience with software testing tools and methodologies, including unit testing and test-driven development (TDD).
