Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Network Security Level 3 Engineer with over 10 years of experience in the

networking environment, focusing on network security. The ideal candidate will be accountable for

implementing firewall change requests, configuring firewall devices, proxies, and IDS, as well as

troubleshooting security issues and ensuring robust connectivity. This role requires close collaboration

with carriers and vendors to facilitate installations and enhance overall network security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement firewall change requests and manage any related Layer 2/Layer 3 router changes.
  • Create and install Checkpoint objects for initial firewall policy configurations.
  • Build, configure, and manage firewall devices including Checkpoint, Juniper, and Cisco.
  • Build and configure proxies and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting in security environments, including fault escalation and resolution of

connectivity issues.

  • Liaise with carriers and vendors to coordinate installations, upgrades, and support.
  • Document deployment processes, security protocols, and change management activities.
  • Utilize network monitoring and management tools to ensure optimal performance and security

compliance.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Ten plus (10+) years of experience in the networking environment, with a strong emphasis on network

security.

  • Two to five (2-5) years of experience with Linux/UNIX operating systems.
  • Certified Security Engineer (e.g., CCSE or comparable certification).
  • Certified Technical Engineer (e.g., Cisco CCNP or comparable certification).
  • Comprehensive understanding of loop prevention protocols, including Spanning Tree Protocols.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, and RIP, including Network

Address Translation (NAT).

  • In-depth knowledge of IOS and Catos operating systems, with hands-on troubleshooting experience.
  • Strong understanding of trunking protocols (VTP, 802.1Q, etc.) and various firewall deployment

architectures.

  • Familiarity with the ITIL framework and service management principles.
  • Proven ability to follow and document deployment processes eAectively.
  • Extensive experience with change request management systems.
  • Strong experience with network monitoring, management, and analysis tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills for evaluating and resolving complex security issues.
  • Strong communication skills, fluent in local language and English (written/verbal).
  • Ability to work actively as part of a virtual global team within a matrix organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing and implementing network security measures in large-scale enterprise

environments.

Knowledge of emerging network security technologies and trends

Compensation and Benefits
A candidate s pay within the range will depend on their work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
