Hadoop Developer - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Hadoop Developer for a hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
This role requires a candidate with strong knowledge of database structures and extensive experience within the Hadoop ecosystem. The ideal candidate will write and manage data jobs using Spark, Scala, and shell scripting, handle data loading from various sources, and contribute to the architectural design and governance of Hadoop clusters. This position requires 3 days onsite.
Responsibilities:

• Write Spark/Scala Dataset, Data frame & SQL jobs
• Develop and maintain Shell scripting
• Load data from disparate data source sets using tools like Sqoop, Flume, and Kafka
• Analyze, identify issues with existing clusters, and suggest architectural design changes
• Implement Data Governance in Hadoop clusters
• Utilize workflow/schedulers like Oozie

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• 8-12 years of hands-on experience in coding for the Hadoop Eco System
• Good knowledge of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
• Experience in Java and knowledge in Hadoop (HDFS/HBASE/SPARKSQL and SPARK/Scala)
• Proven understanding of Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and Hbase
• Good aptitude in multi-threading and concurrency concepts
• Hands-on experience with at least two NoSQL databases
• Experience with the following: Java, Python, Spark/Scala, Spark/Data Set/Data Frame, Spark-SQL, Py-Spark, Kafka, HIVE, Impala, Autosys, HBASE, and Shell Scripting

Desired skills:

• Cloudera Developer (CCA175), Hortonworks Developer (Spark & Hive), or Administrator certifications
• Experience with KUDU
• Experience with Restful Services
• Knowledge of Machine Learning/Predictive analytics
• Experience with Spark streaming
• Experience with .Net Core

Pay range: $55.06 - $63.06 per hour
