Battery Test and Data Engineer

A globally leading consumer device company headquartered in Cupertino, CA is seeking a Battery Test and Data Engineer to execute and track electrical and thermal testing across cell, pack, and system levels, while driving data automation initiatives that turn raw test data into actionable insights. This role sits at the intersection of hands-on lab testing and software-driven data engineering, ideal for someone who enjoys both bench work and building tools that scale.

Responsibilities:

• Execute and track comprehensive electrical and thermal testing protocols across cell, pack, and system levels

• Operate battery cycling test equipment and manage sensor measurements and data acquisition workflows

• Drive data automation initiatives to transform raw test data into actionable engineering insights

• Develop and maintain custom dashboards and applications for data processing, automation, and visualization

• Query and analyze large-scale time-series datasets using cloud data warehouses

• Collaborate cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot test anomalies and streamline testing pipelines

Key Qualifications:

• BS in Engineering discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 3+ years

• Strong hands-on experience with battery cycling test equipment, including Maccor, Arbin, Gamry, or similar systems

• Demonstrated expertise in sensor measurement, data acquisition, and structured battery test procedures

• Strong proficiency in Python and MATLAB, utilizing data libraries for processing, analysis, and visualization

• Proficient in SQL, with hands-on experience querying and analyzing large-scale time-series datasets in cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake

• Proven experience developing internal dashboards and applications for data automation

• Ability to maintain strict project confidentiality in a fast-paced hardware development environment
