Project Manager Location: Stroud<br />Sector: Main Contracting – Building Refurbishment<br />Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience + package The Opportunity Walker &amp; Sloan is recruiting a Project Manager to join an established building contractor delivering refurbishment projects in the Stroud area. You’ll take responsibility for projects from planning through to handover, working closely with clients, subcontractors and the commercial team. This would suit you if you enjoy the practical challenges of refurbishing existing buildings and keeping everyone involved focused on successful delivery. Role Overview You’ll plan and manage construction activities, ensuring the works progress safely, meet quality expectations and remain on programme. You’ll establish project programmes, coordinate subcontractors and organise resources around the sequence of works. You’ll monitor progress, identify potential delays and resolve issues with the site team before they affect key milestones. Refurbishment can bring unforeseen conditions and changes to the original scope. You’ll work with design and commercial colleagues to assess these issues, agree practical solutions and keep clear records of decisions and variations. You’ll maintain regular communication with the client, lead progress meetings and provide accurate updates on delivery. You’ll also oversee quality inspections, snagging and handover, ensuring outstanding items are properly closed out. About You You’ll have experience managing building refurbishment projects within a main contracting environment. You may already be a Project Manager or an experienced Senior Site Manager ready to take greater responsibility for overall project delivery. You’ll understand the challenges of working with existing structures, coordinating different trades and adapting programmes when site conditions change. Experience managing works in occupied buildings would be beneficial. You’ll be commercially aware, confident reading construction information and comfortable leading subcontractors and site teams. Clear communication, sound judgement and a practical approach to problem-solving will be essential.
