Apex Systems is hiring a Critical Facilities Engineer for a large Healthcare client.

Location: Getzville, New York (Onsite) - must live within 1 hour of facility.

Role Overview

This is a Critical Facilities position that will assist the primary on-site person. The role is responsible for the physical deployment of data center-related technologies. This includes end-to-end monitoring, testing, capacity planning, preventive maintenance, and repair of data center equipment and associated electrical, alarming, and monitoring systems per vendor specifications at the enterprise data centers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of production control activities for systems software, hardware, data, and applications.
• Perform physical deployment of data center technologies.
• Conduct hardware installations, break-fix, and decommissions.
• Work on projects such as updating cabling, cabinet consolidation, and documentation.
• Participate in disaster recovery processes and exercises to maintain business continuity.
• Ensure major revisions to applications in production are passed after thorough testing and documentation.
• Recommend software solutions and ideas for automating daily operations tasks.
• Document standard operating procedures and provide progress reports to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Experience: 2 to 4 years of related experience. Experience with data center infrastructure projects is required.

Technical Skills: Experience with structured cabling (copper/fiber), cable testing, and concepts of cooling and electrical systems within a data center is required.

Work Environment

This position is full-time on-site; no remote work is available. Initial training for the first 30 days will be on the first shift, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The standard hours for this position will then be 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Sunday through Thursday, with some flexibility for night and/or weekend work.
