Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Neo4j SME with strong expertise in Graph Database technologies to support the migration and modernization of applications currently built on the Portico platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining Neo4j-based solutions while guiding teams on graph data modelling, performance tuning, and migration strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale Neo4j graph database solutions.
• Analyse existing Portico application data models and drive migration to Neo4j.
• Develop graph data models, nodes, relationships, and schemas aligned with business requirements.
• Design and optimize Cypher queries for complex data retrieval and analytics.
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and development teams to define graph database strategies.
• Perform data migration, transformation, and validation activities from legacy systems to Neo4j.
• Establish best practices for graph modelling, indexing, partitioning, and performance optimization.
• Conduct database health checks, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Support integration of Neo4j with enterprise applications, APIs, and cloud platforms.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to development teams.
• Participate in architecture reviews, capacity planning, and disaster recovery discussions.
• Ensure data governance, security, and compliance standards are followed.

Required Skills

• Neo4j & Graph Database Expertise
• 5+ years of experience in Neo4j Database development and administration.
• Strong understanding of graph database concepts and graph theory.
• Expertise in Cypher Query Language.
• Experience with Neo4j Aura and Enterprise Editions.
• Graph Data Modelling and Schema Design.
• Graph Data Migration and ETL processes.
• Experience with APOC Procedures and Graph Data Science (GDS) libraries.

Database Technologies

• Strong understanding of relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
• Experience in database migration and transformation projects.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
• Application Development & Integration
• Experience integrating Neo4j with Java, Spring Boot, Python, or Node.js applications.
• REST API and Microservices integration experience.
• Experience with Kafka or event-driven architectures is preferred.
• Familiarity with GraphQL is an advantage.

 

Cloud & DevOps

Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform experience.

CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.

Docker and Kubernetes experience preferred.

Experience in Portico Migration

Experience supporting migration from Portico or similar legacy platforms to Neo4j environments.

Analyse existing Portico data structures and create migration strategies.

Identify dependencies, data relationships, and graph conversion opportunities.

Validate data integrity post-migration.

Preferred Qualifications

Neo4j Certified Professional or Neo4j Certified Developer.

Experience in large-scale enterprise transformation programs.

Experience handling high-volume transactional and analytical workloads.

Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) solutions.

Exposure to AI/ML and Graph Analytics use cases.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
