We are seeking an accomplished Head of People, HR Director, Senior HR Business Partner or HR Manager to join a successful and growing organisation in Birmingham.
This is a rare opportunity to operate at a strategic level whilst benefiting from a genuinely flexible working arrangement. The successful candidate can work their 28 hours over 3, 4 or 5 days, providing flexibility around family commitments, work-life balance or portfolio careers.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will lead the organisation's people strategy, provide expert HR guidance and drive initiatives that support employee engagement, organisational performance and business growth.
The Role
As Head of People, you will be responsible for both strategic and operational HR leadership, including:
Developing and delivering the People Strategy
Partnering with senior leaders on organisational planning and performance
Leading complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence cases
Supporting investigations and managing cases through to tribunal where required
Leading organisational change, restructuring and transformation projects
Supporting recruitment, succession planning and workforce planning initiatives
Overseeing payroll and pension administration
Driving employee engagement, wellbeing and recognition programmes
Developing an inclusive and positive workplace culture
Producing HR metrics and management information to support decision-making
Ensuring compliance with employment law and HR best practice
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Significant experience in a senior HR leadership role
Previous experience as a Head of People, HR Director, Senior HR Business Partner, HR Manager or Human Resources Manager
Strong employee relations expertise, including disciplinary and grievance management
Experience managing complex ER cases through to tribunal level
Proven experience delivering strategic HR and people initiatives
Experience working closely with executive teams and senior stakeholders
Excellent knowledge of UK employment law
Strong leadership, coaching and stakeholder management skills
Experience overseeing payroll and pensions administration
Ideally, CIPD Level 7 qualified or equivalent/ similar
Desirable Experience
- Degree qualified or equivalent
- Experience within charity, membership, public sector or not-for-profit organisations
- Experience leading culture, wellbeing and engagement programmes
- Experience supporting periods of organisational growth and change
