Mid-Level Human Resources Generalist - Manufacturing

A. O. Smith seeks an HR Generalist to support our Milwaukee manufacturing operations. In this performance-driven, safety-focused environment, you will manage day-to-day HR activities including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and HRIS administration. You will partner with leaders to drive performance management, engagement, and compliance with employment laws. Responsibilities

• Support employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution for plant and office staff
• Coordinate full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and orientation for hourly and salaried roles
• Administer HRIS data, benefits changes, and employee records accurately
• Partner with leaders on performance management, coaching, and corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with federal and WI state employment laws and company policies
• Support safety, engagement, and culture initiatives in a manufacturing environment
• Assist with compensation reviews, merit processes, and job changes
• Develop and communicate HR policies, procedures, and best practices
• Prepare HR metrics and reports to support data-driven decisions
• Coordinate training, development, and succession planning activities
