Job Description

Job Description: 

The Production Supervisor supports the Badger Mission and Principles as a member of the Operations team. They are responsible for day-to-day supervision of the Production floor, ensuring that all SOPs for safety and quality are adhered to, and Production goals are met. They have specific responsibility for supervising the Production team members and working cross departmentally with the rest of operations teams, including the scheduling group, and the Quality team. This is a hands-on role: in addition to leading the team, the Production Supervisor regularly works on the floor, operating machines, and performing general production tasks as needed to meet the schedule.

Essential Responsibilities:

·         Directly supervise day-to-day activities of the Production team, ensuring appropriate daily coverage and workload prioritization across all Production functions.

·         Lead daily Production activities to meet organizational goals and deadlines, filling in on machine operation when the schedule demands it.

·         Work hands-on alongside the team, filling in on machine operation, line set-up, packing, cleaning, and other production tasks as needed to maintain coverage and meet deadlines.

·         Ensure Production meets all Badger safety and quality standards manufacturing according to batch records, SOPs, organic standards, and all cGMP and quality expectations.

·         Train and coach team members on production activities including job set-up, line clearance, machine operation, and end-of-run paperwork; work with QA to update this training as skills develop and SOPs change.

·         Provide day-to-day coaching and performance feedback to Production team members and act as a role model for the department by supporting organizational initiatives.

·         Partner with the Production and Warehouse Manager to conduct regular team member check-ins and Alignment Building meetings, and to establish goals for the team and individuals. Work with the Production and Warehouse Manager and HR on employee relations issues that may arise.

·         Approve and oversee employee time keeping and work with the Production and Warehouse Manager to set the weekly machine schedule.

·         Work with the Production team to continuously improve procedures and work instructions.

·         Work with Quality and other teams to review problems and determine solutions as needed.

·         Maintain accurate and organized inventory by ensuring Production employees are trained in SYSPRO and that all records are complete and accurate.

·         Ensure a clean and pest-free facility by coordinating staff to complete all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual cleanings on schedule.

·         Maintain a safe and legal working environment, immediately addressing or escalating any safety concerns or unethical or illegal behavior.

·         Attend meetings as requested and regularly participate in Badger community activities.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Pay range $26.00 - $31.00 an hour; salary is commensurate to experience.

Education & Experience:

·         High school diploma or the equivalent

·         Three or more years of experience leading a team

·         Two or more years of experience in a FDA production environment preferred

Skills:

·         Ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision.

·         Strong problem solving skills and communication skills

·         Ability to use Excel.

·         Experience with ERP systems required, experience with SYSPRO preferred.


Physical Requirements:
Physical requirements for the job include, but are not limited to: standing and bending; lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50 lbs.;  grasping small objects; repeatedly throughout  a typical 8-hour shift; as well as the ability to distinguish odors and listen for subtle changes in machinery sounds.  Employee must be able to perform these essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
