UI Developer - React/Next.js

Help build a digital service supporting the transformation of the UK's customs landscape.

Synergize Consulting is seeking two UI Developers to join the an important critical government programme, developing secure, accessible and user-focused services for traders, online marketplaces and carriers.

We welcome applications from experienced developers at different levels. Candidates will be assessed against SFIA 4 or SFIA 5, based on their skills, experience and responsibilities.

The opportunity

You will build intuitive interfaces that help users meet their customs obligations, working within a team delivering a secure and scalable government service.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing responsive interfaces using React and Next.js.

• Creating HTML wireframes and prototypes to explore and validate user journeys.

• Using API mocking frameworks to support development and testing.

• Writing clean, secure, reusable code using a test-driven approach.

• Contributing to coding standards, code reviews and continuous improvement.

• Supporting live services and investigating production issues.

• Sharing knowledge and mentoring colleagues where appropriate to your level.

What we're looking for

• Strong commercial UI development experience.

• Hands-on React and Next.js expertise.

• HTML wireframing and prototyping skills.

• Experience using API mocking frameworks.

• A commitment to software quality, testing and user needs.

• Clearance: BPSS required, with a minimum of three years' UK residency.

Previous government digital delivery or accessibility experience would be beneficial.
