Are you?
Purpose of the Role
As Senior Specialist, Dietitian at the McLaren Performance Hub, you will be a driving force for employee health and wellbeing. Combining one-to-one clinical guidance with engaging, collaborative education, you will help employees make informed, realistic and sustainable changes that support their health and performance.
Initially operating one clinic day per week at the McLaren Technology Centre, from 09:00 to 18:00, you will report to the Head of Medical Services & Governance within Human Performance.
Principal Accountabilities
You will:
- Undertake comprehensive, person-centred nutritional assessments and provide evidence-based diagnosis, care planning, follow-up and outcome monitoring.
- Support employees with nutrition-related health concerns, including metabolic health, gastrointestinal symptoms, cardiovascular risk factors, nutritional deficiencies and weight management.
- Recognise clinical red flags and make appropriate onward referrals to GPs, consultants, mental health professionals and other healthcare services.
- Deliver targeted nutrition strategies, workshops, campaigns and practical initiatives that support daily energy, cognitive performance, resilience and long-term health.
- Undertake appropriate anthropometric assessments using validated methods, informed consent and sensitive, inclusive communication.
- Work with Human Performance colleagues and onsite catering teams to review the workplace food environment and make proportionate, evidence-based recommendations.
- Integrate dietetic care with medical, occupational health, physiotherapy, exercise rehabilitation, fitness, performance nutrition and mental health services.
- Maintain accurate and secure clinical records using Semble, while meeting requirements for consent, confidentiality, safeguarding, information governance and clinical risk.
- Contribute to clinical audit, service evaluation, peer review, quality improvement and the development of meaningful service standards and outcome measures.
- Use clinical outcomes, service data, employee feedback and current evidence to improve the service continually.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
You will need:
- A degree or postgraduate qualification in Dietetics from an appropriately recognised programme.
- Current Health and Care Professions Council registration as a Dietitian.
- Appropriate professional indemnity cover and evidence of relevant continuing professional development.
- Training and competence in safeguarding, consent, confidentiality, information governance and clinical record-keeping.
- Current ISAK Level 1 accreditation or demonstrable equivalent competence in appropriate anthropometric assessment.
- Experience delivering person-centred dietetic assessment and intervention within an appropriately governed healthcare or occupational setting.
- Experience managing an individual caseload, including assessment, goal-setting, care planning, follow-up, outcome evaluation and discharge.
- The clinical judgement to identify risks, recognise red flags and make appropriate referrals or escalations.
- Experience maintaining high-quality clinical records and working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- The ability to translate complex clinical and nutritional science into practical, engaging guidance for individuals and groups.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with an approachable, inclusive and non-judgmental style.
Relevant postgraduate or specialist training in workplace health, public health, sports dietetics, gastrointestinal health, metabolic health, behaviour change or preventative medicine would be beneficial. Experience in occupational health, corporate wellbeing, primary care, private healthcare, integrated multidisciplinary clinics or elite performance environments would also be valuable.
You will thrive in a fast-moving environment, adapt confidently as priorities change and bring a collaborative, one-team mindset. You will combine attention to detail with a proactive approach to improvement, maintaining the highest standards of evidence-based practice, confidentiality and professional governance.
Success in racing comes from bringing together talented people with different skills, perspectives and experiences. We're committed to building an inclusive environment where everyone feels supported and empowered to deliver their best work.
Every role has the potential to drive high performance. You'll be part of a team united by a shared ambition to push boundaries and embody our racing mindset. We invest in our people through opportunities to develop and grow, creating an environment where individuals and teams can thrive.
Alongside a range of wellbeing initiatives and development opportunities, we're committed to helping you build a rewarding career and make your mark at McLaren Racing.
