Messaging Administrator

Location: Plano, Texas

Role Overview

We are seeking a Messaging Administrator to provide operational, technical, and platform support for enterprise messaging technologies. This role is part of the Messaging Production Support Team and is primarily focused on IBM MQ administration, while also contributing to the support for Kafka and TIBCO platforms. The administrator will ensure the stability, reliability, and high performance of messaging environments running across Linux and Windows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational and technical support for enterprise messaging technologies including IBM MQ, Confluent Kafka, IBM Integration Bus (IIB), and TIBCO.
  • Design, build, and administer IBM MQ environments.
  • Contribute to the support for Confluent Kafka and TIBCO platforms as needed.
  • Ensure the stability, reliability, and high performance of messaging environments.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues across distributed systems.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to support production environments.
  • Utilize scripting or programming languages like Python or shell scripting for automation.
  • Implement monitoring strategies, track operational metrics, and perform performance tuning.
Required Qualifications

Experience:
  • 5 years of experience in a relevant role.
  • Hands-on experience designing, building, and administering IBM MQ.
  • Experience supporting production environments in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
  • Proficiency with Linux and Windows operating systems in enterprise settings.
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python or shell scripting for automation.

Technical Skills:
  • Primary skill: IBM MQ.
  • Familiarity with IBM Integration Bus (IIB), Confluent Kafka, TIBCO Rendezvous (RV), and TIBCO EMS.
  • Knowledge of middleware tools and supporting technologies such as meshIQ Navigator, Atrium Orchestrator, Dynatrace, Splunk, and JIRA.
Work Environment

This position has a hybrid schedule requirement of a minimum of three days per week onsite.
