API and Database Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce is immediately seeking an experienced API and Database Developer in support of our enterprise telecommunications and mass media client based in Greenwood Village, CO.

Summary

We are seeking an API and Database Developer to support the design, development, and long-term sustainment of a network systems platform replacement. This role will begin with core development work and transition into an ongoing sustaining engineering capacity - supporting the software lifecycle, patching, security updates, and new feature development. A key focus area will be AAA (Authentication, Authorization, Accounting) policy development using AAA policy scripting languages (e.g., TAL - Triple A Language), along with general familiarity with network equipment vendor platforms and software.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful/SOAP APIs to support system integration and data exchange
• Develop, optimize, and maintain relational and/or NoSQL databases supporting application backend needs
• Support the full development lifecycle of a network systems platform replacement, from initial build through long-term sustainment
• Perform ongoing patching, bug fixes, and system updates post-deployment
• Design and implement new features based on evolving business and technical requirements
• Write and maintain AAA (Authentication, Authorization, Accounting) policies using AAA policy scripting languages (e.g., TAL - Triple A Language)
• Collaborate with network engineering teams on integration points across various network equipment vendor platforms
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
• Document technical designs, code changes, and operational procedures
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and QA processes to ensure release quality

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience in API development (REST/SOAP), including design, security, and versioning practices
• Experience supporting software through a full lifecycle - development, deployment, patching, and enhancement
• Experience with, or strong aptitude to quickly learn, AAA policy scripting languages (e.g., TAL - Triple A Language)
• General familiarity with network equipment vendor software/platforms (multi-vendor exposure a plus)
• Strong database development skills (SQL, schema design, stored procedures, performance tuning)
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in a production support environment
• Ability to work independently and manage long-term sustaining engineering responsibilities

Preferred

• Experience with telecom/service provider AAA systems (e.g., RADIUS, Diameter)
• Scripting experience (Python, Shell, etc.) for automation
• Networking fundamentals (routing, switching, protocols)
• Wi-Fi technology knowledge (802.11 standards, wireless network design/troubleshooting)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
